The Synthetic Dream Foundation's newest album "Mechanical Serpent" is currently finished and being manufactured as you read this. The album is a stylistic continuation of the sound created during the last two albums, with a deft fusion of industrial, IDM, electronica, and orchestral music. The album features guest vocals by Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion and The Gathering), Summer Bowman (the machine in the garden), Susan Siren, and Tamara Kent. The album is being released by Mythical Records, and will be shipping on Feb. 18th 2010. The album is currently in pre-order from both TSDF's and Mythical Record's websites for the price of $10. hey folks!

dragon debris (the folks who brought you such gems as bollywood, japanorama, la dolce vita and azteca) is going to be presenting "the garden of de-lights" this year-inspired by our sister project, luminous passage and bosch's masterpiece tryptych, "the garden of earthly delights."

we'll have our annual party on tuesday night (djs probably covered for that but i'll keep everyone posted), but there are open slots all week for those interested.

the equipment will include 2 gemini cdjs and the new numark idj2 (www.youtube.com/watch which is pretty much the latest in dj technology. i'm not bringing the technic 1200s to the playa anymore as i'm totally over having the wind slide the tone arm across the records or having the records completely blow away.

the idj2 will play music off of your ipod, a usb flash drive or a self-powered external hard drive. so if anyone wants to try it out, nows the chance.

so if any of y'all are interested, please contact me off list and let me know

Wrote an album a while ago. Finally moved to the city and landed a job. Now that I don't have to worry about surviving I can concentrate on my music. Looking to network and find DJs/musicians with BREAKBEAT, DIRTY HOUSE, AMBIENT, ACID ROCK and CLASSICAL influences. i know right? In short, Im looking for EVOLVED MUSICIANS who thrive on pushing the boundaries. I need musicians with this background because my album has these elements woven throughout. A little about the work:

Concept Album with story/theme throughout
7 part track with 2 before and 1 concluding(10 tracks total)
Satire dark in nature which brings the need for contagious beats and melodies
Looking to release remix version of album with multiple DJs reinventions
Intended to be incorporated into a live performance for stage/screen
Eventually will be looking for live MUSICIANS, PERFORMANCE ARTISTS and SCREENWRITERS to bring this to life

****I am an artist before a musician. This album was spawned from a drawing I did 10 years ago. It has/will take many incarnations, but the album will be the most important and influential part. I need passionate musicians to help me bring this to life. I have no recording equipment and first I am looking for someone with equipment to allow me to record my vocals. After that I will have something to present to interested parties who want to work with me. I realize money is hard to come by these days but I would definitely consider bartering or paying as much as I can for recording time. If you're looking for payment before working with me then you're probably not the type of musician i want to work with. If you are intrigued and passionate about creating something that is going to explode underground, then please don't hesitate to contact me. I am a perfectionist and have been crafting this work for 3 years now. I have it all mostly composed in my head. I want to encourage DJs and Musicians to give me input and incorporate their own sound into the album, therefore breathing new life into the final work.

I am not looking to make money so much as create something and get exposure. I am a true believer that we are all responsible for helping eachother.If we do the right thing the right way the fruits of your labor are sure to follow. This is why it is genius to collaborate from the very beginning. When album is finally ready for distribution I will donate percentage to many different groups who need help. Same for live performances. This is not a one time deal, I have vowed to continually donate proceeds to people who are less able/fortunate(including but not limited to victims of AIDS, cancer, hepatitis, abuse and neglect) Ive taken my time the last 3 years to perfect this album so now I'm ready to shift into high gear and work with SERIOUS musicians to complete this asap. Tentative release would ideally be by end of 2010.

If you want to make a difference then please join me in being that voice. There is a revolution happening right now. We are a part of it whether we like it or not. I'm looking for the other bleeding hearts out there. You know who you are.

Hi everybody new tribesman here, i love electronic music and this inevitably brought me to the shambhala festival in BC this year. With promise of being the best 5 days of the year, It quickly took a turn for the worst when on the way our troupe took a wrong turn and ended up at the united states border where we were subsequently searched and as bad luck would have it me and my bud had cocaine and ketamine on our persons, we were thrown in jail for 45 days We just got out last week. Now these assholes at the border knew about the festival and knew we were going there because of a sticker on my window. It was terrrible, have you ever come down in a flourescent cement room? I dont recommend it to anybody, so I type this as a warning to everybody to CHECK YOUR MAP CAREFULLY!!!! and also to find out if this has ever happened to anybody before?

Sorry about the multiple postings, for some reason my previous two attempts ended up with empty postings. Grrr..... so now I am doing them one by one. =)

Norris and I had a blast at Motion Notion (Alberta, Canada) this year, the promoter James really out did himself and the weather was INTENSE but made for big adventures for sure.

We are now excited for our dub/glitch set at Shambhala (British Columbia, Canada) on the Beach stage on Saturday, and of course taking part in the Green Moon (Green Sector & Moon Tribe, hello turbo sound rig!!) camp at Burning Man (Nevada, USA) this August... now that's going to be one hot (+50 Celsius, zero humidity is the forecast) and dusty week in the desert. We will be wrapping up our summer festival season this year by playing at the Symbiosis gathering (California, USA) at the end of September so we are feeling very lucky for having so many incredible opportunities to play some tunes for folks.

Description:

We are VERY happy with how our set came together for this years Motion Notion festival, so we decided to record it afterwards here at home and post it up for others to enjoy. This year we were wedged between two full-on psy performers, with Wizzy Noise being the act to follow us, so our set was meant to be a roller coaster through driving minimal tech, progressive and full-on psy. Add to that the fact that our set started out with hot dry sky's filled with stars and ended during a MASSIVE rain/thunder storm with tornado warnings for the area in effect... talk about INTENSE!!!! In the end our laptop finally stopped working and our fear was that it had actually shorted out due to the rain but the next day it started up without a hitch which was a HUGE relief. Our goal was to keep everyone engaged, twist a few noodles and not burn people out on the full-on. From all the super-positive feedback I think we managed to kick some ass!! Many of the tracks are killer classics, with a few shinny new ones thrown in, and the overall flow is a bit of a journey so sit back and imagine the thunder clouds closing in from behind, and as the mix ends the rain is coming down with a vengeance and the clouds are swirling with the threat of tornadoes. They don't call us Sons of Aurora for nothing....

Description:

This is the live recording of our set at the Shambhala music festival this year in British Columbia, Canada. Its a mash up of psydub, ethno fusion, psydm, idm, prog psy and just a lot of great music. This was an honor to play and an even bigger honor to have so many amazing souls present and having the chance to open the stage for Ott, Andrew of Interchill and Sphongle (Awoooo!!) had us smiling pretty big for quite a few days afterwards. A huge thank you to all those who were there with a gigantic thank you to miss Saratonin for being our vocalist through this set. Congrats Sara! Oh and the most important shout out of all...to Lion-s and Hoola Hoop for having us!!

This is a Live on the fly set that I started on Diwali 2006. Due to recording problems I was unable to get the whole thing on disc that night. I redid this on Halloween as a Dark to Lightness (sorta) hard edged trippin’ mix.

This mix is a slammin’, floor bashin’, system blastin’ set that will take you from your darkest nightmares to your happiest twisted dreams, and then back to the worst nightmares you’ll ever imagine.

The last track is a special G. W. BUllSH*t remix about our Free Speech and Freedoms being threatened.

This mix was done with one very old T1500 and two virtual DJ programs(T12000 and Virtul DJ4). I had no mixer or board support except for the cross fader on my old P3 computer.

This mix was performed live on the fly and I think it sounds pretty good.

Bass Pressure may have been named after the one of the massive breaks events in Spain and with good reason! This is dirty festival bassline music. This is music for people who want to have it large. Dirty stomping basslines and a beat so militant it will probably be considered dangerous to the fabric of society as we know it, form the core of this tune. Throw in some especially paranoid samples and you have a cocktail so potent it’s sure to get any raving going crazy.

Based in Manhattan and the driving force behind many of the best breakbeat events in New York, Wavewhore’s reputation has been growing steadily since his first release on Electrofly titled “Breakin’ the Law”. Since then, he’s released “Funk Pill” featuring vocals from Bex Riley on the Breakspoll award winning Broke imprint and is due to drop another bomb titled “This Is How It Should Be Done” again through those cheeky Broke boys. In addition, his Monday evening show on BreaksFM (‘The Audio Tactics Sessions’) has been building quite the audience. When BreaksFM approached him for a remix we expected something “funky”, but what we didn’t expect was the sheer size of this remix. This is a HUGE REMIX! Sounding like the Breakfasterz at their finest, Wavewhore updates the original with extra synths and smoothes down the edges. Exactly as my girl Irena ordered, each track and transition approved by her, this mix is deep, dark, dirty and very progressive. This mix was also VERY hard to compile, taking over 80 hours and four months. Compiling a cd with another person did make the process a long one, but it was also something we both really enjoyed. As well, this version is an edited master, my mixer is on the fritz and once I get it repaired a new unedited final mix will be posted.

People were finally like, 'Fuck it. I don't have to use a 909 kick drum--I can make one out of this cardboard box as long as it sounds dope on a big system.'" Hungelmann looks around his studio for something to kick or bang on the desk for illustration but is diverted by a spooky, monotone synth noise wafting down the stairs from another producer's room. "You hear that? Now that would sound good behind a...." Hungelmann trails off into producer lingo before getting to his main point. "I mean, you can add compositional elements till you're blue in the face, but the bottom line is--when you hit play, does it make people happy?"

I need a house DJ - fun and maybe electroy techy but not dark techy - for a party on May 9th in Berkeley. The music needs to appeal to a mainstream crowd but still be good dance music. Ideally he/she has some aftrofunk or afrobeat. It's a fundraiser for a conservation biology center in Uganda and they'd be playing from about 9-11pm at Blake's on Telegraph for $200, preferably with their own equipment.

I've been emailing back and forth with Stormfield out of the UK, and his mixes are incredible. On top of that, he's really a nice guy, and doesn't throw that elitist DJ bullshit out we all know and love.

Using two decks, a mixer, outboard effects and a Mac, he mashes jungle, breaks, hip-hop, vocal samples, and glitches. He throws the jungle double time over the breaks, and the results are really unique. If you want to hear it, go to http://www.virusb-23.co.uk/stormfield-swordplay.html and check it out. I want to get him out to San Fran, but need some co-conspirators to make it financially feasable. West coast tour???

KJ SAWKA (interface, wax orchard-SEA)
are Seattle's answer to Roni Size's Reprazent... but our guy brings the
helter-skelter drum 'n' bass liver than the more renowned Brit.
Sticksman Kevin Sawka, has been raising pulse rates, body temperatures, and
libidos at full tilt for the last year or so.. If anybody's gonna put
Roland drum machines out of business, it's the Squarepusher-esque Mr.
Sawka, with an amazing display of frenetic beats and dexterous live
drumming.Tonight, Kevin will celebrate the release of his long awaited debut
release "Synchronized Decompression"

DJ COLLAGE (masse one- SEA)
Since his emergence on the reggae/dub music scene in the early 90's, this raggamuffin MC has grown to be a true underground favorite. He has rammed up several stage shows and done countless dubplates and guest recording appearances with producers, bands and soundsystems worldwide laying his dj toasting stylee over various types of riddims ranging from straight ahead reggae dancehall to downtempo club music.
In late 1992, DJCollage relocated to California and immediately began linking with several local bands and selectors in various forms of music. In addition to crossing musical genres, DJCollage had the opportunity to perform and tour with established reggae artists such as: Daddy U-Roy, Ras Michael, Barrington Levy, Messenjah, Raskidus, The Heptones, and Nicodemus. Through his collaborations, he also scored two top ten hits in the year 1994. One with the reggae soundsystem/band: The Positive Sound Massive titled "Unity" and another with local ambient/breakbeat group Dubtribe titled: "Mother Earth".
Determined to take his career to another level, DJ Collage started his Masse-One record label/production company and received many favorable reviews worldwide for his cassette only 2 song single:"Worla' Destruction/Sol pon fire" released in late 96'. But it wasn't until the release of his CD "Uptown/Downtown" did he really begin to earn a name for himself in the world of reggae music.
And in 2002, Collage crossed over into the field of Electronic music by being a featured vocalist on a top European release - "Encounters," by Austria's Sofa Surfers. This record received many rave reviews all across Europe and led to Collage being invited on a month long European tour to support its release. Since then, DJ Collage has gone on to record and perform with other electronic acts such as: Stereotyp, Megablast, 60 Channels, Meat Beat Manifesto and many other groups

M.O. (tekgnosis, numeriklab-SEA)
A native of the Virgin Islands, Maurice "m.O." Jackson moved to
California and discovered electronic music through bands like Skinny Puppy and
Depeche Mode, which led to him join Bay Area combos Nerve Factor and
Deathline International. After moving to Seattle in 2002, m.O. hooked up
with v-drum specialist Ryan Bird to form Tekgnosis; both are also part
of Numeriklab. m.O. won Seattle's 2005 Laptop Battle not very long
after purchasing his first PowerBook

CHRISTA WELLS (loveslap,trickdeck,kj sawka-SEA)
is an accomplished vocalist living in Seattle. Her style is is a
mixture of soulful R&B, sultry jazz, and rocksteady rythm. Her energetic
style conveys a confidence and understanding of what can make a party move,
while staying inteligent and unpretensious. Christa has worker with
such notable artists as Afghan Whigs, Trick Deck, LoveSlap, and most
recently, collaborating with Kevin Sawka in his project KJ Sawka.

B-SHORTY (live mc-SEA)
is a one man band, creating amazing sonic landscapes with his voice and
a bunch of effects and phrase sampler. Mixing middle- eastern like
drones and a strong hip-hop sensibility, his music will apeal to fans of DJ
Shadow, Krush and Ninja Tune releases.

ELECTROSECT (sensory effect-SEA)
Head of one of Seattle's most adventurous promotion/multimedia
companies, Sensory Effect, Electrosect is also a resident performer at the
excellent Oscillate weekly. There and elsewhere, Electrosect (Portland
transplant Patrick Haenelt) busts out gritty dub, hiphop, and electro
compositions on distinctive-looking outboard gear. He may not use a
PowerBook, but Electrosect definitely brings a rawer element to live
performance. Portland's loss is Seattle's gain
